These terms are between you and SKMB Software Ltd ("we", "us"). They add to the Terms of Service for anyone who uses Muster's crypto wallet: sending or receiving crypto with people on Muster, and paying for shop items with it. You agree to them before you create or restore a wallet. If anything here and the Terms of Service disagree, these terms win for crypto.
1. Muster never holds your crypto
Your wallet is non-custodial. Its key is made on your device and stays there, encrypted. We never see it, we never hold your funds, and we can't move, freeze or get back anything in your wallet.
Your funds are on a public blockchain (Base), not on Muster's servers. Muster only shows your balance and passes on the payments your own device signs.
2. Your recovery phrase is the only way back in
When you create a wallet you're shown a 12-word recovery phrase. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe and private. Anyone with it can take everything in the wallet.
If you lose your device, clear your browser's data, or uninstall the app, the phrase is the only way to restore your wallet, in Muster or in another wallet app that supports it (for example MetaMask).
We don't have a copy and can't make you a new one. If the phrase is lost and your device's copy is gone, so are the funds.
3. Payments are final
A payment can't be reversed, cancelled or refunded by us once your device has sent it. Check the person, the address and the amount on the review screen before you press Send.
Crypto sent to the wrong address, or to an address that can't receive it, is usually lost for good.
The network charges a fee for every payment, paid in ETH, which you can't get back even if a payment fails.
4. The network and other services
Muster relies on services we don't control: the Base blockchain, the node provider we use to reach it (Alchemy), and the issuers of the tokens (for example Circle, which issues USDC). Any of them can be slow, go down, change their rules, or fail.
A token's issuer can freeze or change it, and a network can be attacked or split. Those things are outside our control.
5. Not advice, and your own tax
Nothing on Muster is financial, investment or tax advice. Crypto can lose value quickly, and stablecoins can lose their peg.
You're responsible for any tax on what you send, receive or buy, and for keeping your own records.
6. If something goes wrong on Muster's side
Your funds aren't stored with us, so an outage, a fault or even losing our servers doesn't touch what's in your wallet. With your recovery phrase you can always reach it, in Muster or another wallet app.
What an outage can affect is Muster's own records: the link between your account and your wallet address (you can link it again), the payment cards shown in conversations, and records of shop purchases. We back up Muster's data regularly. If records are lost, we'll rebuild shop purchases from the payments on the blockchain wherever they show who paid for what.
If Muster is unavailable you can't send through Muster for that time; you can still use your wallet in another wallet app.
If Muster closes the wallet, or Muster itself, we'll tell you first where we can. Your wallet and funds stay yours either way.
7. Our responsibility for losses
Because we never hold your crypto, we're not responsible for any loss of funds, including losses from a lost or shared recovery phrase or device, a payment sent to the wrong person or address, scams by other people, network fees, failures of the blockchain, the node provider or a token issuer, or changes in value.
Unless it's our fault: if you lose funds because we were negligent, or because we broke these terms or the Terms of Service, we're responsible for the loss that was a foreseeable result. And nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. If you use Muster as a consumer, you keep your statutory rights.
8. Who can use the wallet
The wallet is for adults (18 and over) with two-factor sign-in on, and an admin has to switch it on for your account. We can switch it off for your account, for example if we believe it's being used for fraud, scams or anything unlawful; that stops Muster sending for you but never touches the funds in your wallet.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll ask you to agree to the new version before you link a wallet again, and tell you in Muster.
